What a broadcast is
A broadcast is a one-time email blast you send manually. Unlike automations, broadcasts are not triggered by events — you compose them, save a draft, then decide when to send.
Each broadcast targets one of three audiences: all contacts, customers only (anyone with at least one paid order), or leads only (captured contacts who have not yet purchased).
The audience counts shown in the editor reflect your current store data at save time.
Composing a broadcast
Open the Broadcast Editor from the Broadcasts tab. Set a broadcast name, the email subject line, and an optional preview text line that appears below the subject in most inboxes.
Build the message with the Components panel (Text, Image, Button, Divider, Social, Product). Every block you add is converted into the backend body template when you save or send.
Use {{first_name}} in text blocks for personalization. Choose the audience scope from the select menu.
To add a hero image, paste a public image URL in the Image URL field. The live preview on the right reflects subject, preview text, image, and current content blocks.
Drafts and sending
Save Draft keeps the broadcast in the Broadcasts table without delivering it. You can reopen and edit it any time by clicking the pencil icon in the row.
Send Now immediately queues delivery to all eligible recipients in the chosen audience. The table updates the row status to Sending while delivery is processing.
After the queue is processed, run Process Queue from the Broadcasts tab to push any queued items through delivery. The sent count then reflects the final delivered total.
If no contacts match the selected audience, the broadcast stays as a draft. You will see a message confirming zero recipients were found.
Status labels
Draft — broadcast exists but has not been sent. Queued or sending — delivery is in progress. Sent — all queued recipients have been processed.
Failed — delivery failed for one or more queued recipients. The sent and failed counts in the row break this down.
Filtering by status (All / Sent / Draft) on the Broadcasts tab narrows the table to the selected state.
