How order bumps work

Configure an additional product that gets included automatically when a buyer purchases the primary product.

What an order bump is

An order bump is a secondary product attached to a primary product at checkout time.

When a buyer purchases the primary product, the bump product is automatically recorded as an additional line item in the same order.

The bump product's access is granted alongside the primary product, so the buyer receives both.

How to set one up

Go to Growth then Upsells and Funnels. The Order Bumps section lists all your products.

For each product, pick a bump product from the dropdown and enter an optional label such as 'Add this to your order'.

Save the form. The bump is now attached to that primary product.

Pricing note

The bump product is recorded as a line item with its own price_amount value. Price the bump product accordingly before attaching it.

The buyer is charged the primary product price at Stripe checkout. Bump pricing visibility depends on the checkout flow.

A true opt-in bump UI on the product page is a planned enhancement.

Difference between order bumps and upsells

Order bumps are attached before or during checkout. The buyer gets the bump product as part of the same purchase.

Upsells are post-purchase offers shown after the order is complete. The buyer can accept or skip them.

Use order bumps for low-cost add-ons. Use upsells for higher-value follow-up offers.
